BizAnalytica had elite enterprise data-engineering credentials — and the Fortune 500 delivery scars to prove it — but a fragmented market story that made it read like a big-data consultancy rather than the enterprise digital transformation partner it had become. The Artesian Network led the brand, messaging, and go-to-market repositioning, and built the sales engine to sell it.
Key Results
- Repositioned BizAnalytica from a scattered “big data / BI consultancy” into a clear “Cloud. Data. Insights. — Your Digital Transformation Partner,” built on three headline competencies.
- Delivered a complete brand system — new logo and identity, messaging architecture, mission and vision, personae, and positioning — plus a rebuilt website and full sales-enablement library.
- Built a credible proof library from flagship engagements — AXA, Putnam Investments, and a large investment manager (Netezza-to-AWS at 2x performance, 24% lower IT spend).
- Established the go-to-market foundation the company scaled on — ~150% growth in 18 months — leading to BizAnalytica’s July 2023 acquisition by Mastek.
The Challenge
BizAnalytica had a genuine technical edge. Its founders were early builders of the engines the modern data-cloud market runs on — core engineering behind ParAccel (the technology underneath Amazon Redshift) and early Netezza — and the firm had delivered large-scale data and cloud programs for Fortune 500 financial-services companies. But almost none of that came through in the market.
The company’s own story was inconsistent and technical. Across LinkedIn, IBM Cloud Foundry, and its AWS Redshift partner page, BizAnalytica described itself variously as a “business and technology consulting company,” a “system integrator,” and a big-data/BI shop optimizing “analytic information technology infrastructure.” Positioning leaned on “big data analytics” in a crowded, undifferentiated field. There was no unified brand, no consistent messaging, and no website tying the Professional, Managed, and In-Sourcing service lines to a clear buyer and a clear business outcome. To grow beyond founder-led, referral-driven deals — and to be legible to enterprise buyers, cloud partners, and potential acquirers — BizAnalytica needed a coherent category story and the go-to-market assets to tell it consistently.
What We Did
Operating as BizAnalytica’s marketing leadership, The Artesian Network:
- Repositioned the company around “Cloud. Data. Insights. — Your Digital Transformation Partner,” consolidating scattered self-descriptions into one promise: helping customers achieve exceptional business outcomes by transforming, simplifying, and integrating their data and cloud technologies.
- Built a three-pillar service architecture — Cloud & Infrastructure, Data Transformation & Management, and Insights & Analytics — mapped cleanly across the Professional, Managed, and In-Sourcing services model, and authored the mission, vision, personae, and positioning framework behind it.
- Designed a new brand identity and logo system, and rebuilt the website around a case-study, customer-testimonial, and customer-logo structure with AWS-partner proof front and center.
- Produced a full sales-enablement library: a capabilities overview, AWS “Starter Kits” with pricing, packaged client case studies, and a tailored, account-specific pitch deck for Putnam Investments.
- Translated deep technical credibility — Netezza/ParAccel/Redshift engineering heritage, AWS Advanced-tier partnership, and Fortune 500 financial-services delivery — into messaging a non-technical executive buyer (CIO, VP, Director) could act on.
The Outcome
The repositioning gave BizAnalytica a single, defensible category story — “Cloud. Data. Insights.” — and, for the first time, the brand, website, and sales assets to sell it consistently. The new proof library did the heavy lifting: AXA’s rescued 7TB migration delivered on time with a 33% performance gain and a 70% improvement in backup elapsed time; Putnam Investments’ Oracle-to-Snowflake work delivered roughly 10x faster average query speed, on time and under budget; and a large investment manager’s Netezza-to-AWS Redshift migration ran at 2x performance for a 24% reduction in IT spend across 600+ applications. Together they let BizAnalytica present as an enterprise-grade data-cloud partner rather than a founder-led consultancy.
That foundation is what the company scaled on — by its Managing Partner’s account, roughly 150% growth in the 18 months after the engagement wrapped. In July 2023, Mastek acquired BizAnalytica to strengthen its data cloud, cloud modernization, and generative-AI capabilities, with BizAnalytica’s leadership joining Mastek. The engagement did what early-stage go-to-market work is supposed to do: make a strong-but-quiet company legible, credible, and ready for its next chapter.
My partners and I had been discussing ways to accelerate business growth. We knew we needed a marketing partner with a command of our industry and a focus on selling to the Enterprise to help us. That's when we were referred to Jonathan and The Artesian Network. Artesian's team integrated tightly with our team as we set to work. Clearly a seasoned Enterprise marketer, I found Jonathan to be strategic and creative in his thinking and a very clear communicator with his words. We successfully re-branded, re-messaged/positioned the company with transformative results. Jonathan and his team built out the new marketing and sales infrastructure needed for a new sales motion. We were pleased with the results. It doesn't hurt that in just the 18 months since we finished the work with Artesian, we have already grown nearly 150%.
